Arsenal Football Club have sent their message of condolence and support to Nigerians who lost their lives and individuals affected during what most people termed as #LekkiMassacre in Lagos state in which Nigerian security operatives opened fire on unarmed Nigerians protesting against police brutality.
The Premier League giant said they have seen the footage of what is happening in Nigeria, cannot imagine how much paid it has caused but the club wishes well for citizens of Nigeria.
“TO OUR NIGERIAN FANS, WE SEE YOU, WE HEAR YOU, WE FEEL YOU.
‘WE HAVE READ OUR REPLIES, WE HAVE SEEN THE FOOTAGE.
“WE CANNOT IMAGINE THE PAIN.
“OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH EVERYONE IN NIGERIA.
“STAY STRONG, STAY SAFE.”
Amnesty International stated that at least 12 protesters were killed in what the organisation described as “extrajudicial executions”.
