Five Injured As PDP and APC Clash At Oba-Akoko

The two most popular party in Nigeria, All Progressives Congress (APC) and main opposition party, The Peoples Democratic Party had a clash on 16th September in Oba- Akoko in Akoko southwest local government area of the state on 16th September, in which exchanging of words by the two parties led to fight and people had to run for safety.

The APC claimed thug from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede SAN attacked the convoy of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, at Oba Akoko on their way to continue their campaign at Ikare-Akoko and that the branded vehicle donated to Akeredolu campaign by Ambassador Sola Iji for campaign was set ablaze by the PDP hoodlums.

While the PDP said five persons were injured when the convoy of Ondo State governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu stormed Oba-Akoko.They stated that the convoy of Jegede was badly damaged, while Jegede himself had seek refuge inside the palace of the monarch of Oba-the Oloba.
Moreover, series of attacks have been made on PDP supporters in Aiyede-Ogbese community in Akure North LGA, leading to machete and gun attacks and the burning of at least two houses of PDP members.
