Nigerians rising stars Stanley Omah Didia known as Omah Lay, Temilade Opeyemi popularly known as Tems and one Muyiwa Awoniyi have been released and the charges levelled against them dropped by the Ugandan authority.
Omah lay, Tems and Muyiwa were arrested on Sunday, December 13 by the Ugandan Police and charged to court for holding a show with more than 200 people in attendance thereby violating the COVID-19 protocols put in place by the Uganda government.
In their first court appearance yesterday, the three defendants were sent to prison pending a further hearing that was set for Wednesday.
This action of the Uganda government caused uproar as Nigerians and Ugandans took to social media to condemn the action and call for their release.
But according to reports reaching us now, all the three have been freed after the intervention of the people of both countries and are set to be on their way back to Nigeria anytime soon.
The trio were facing up to 7years imprisonment for Ugandan government called negligence.
