President Muhammadu Buhari has warned Nigerians that the economy can easily crash at this current stage if there is another round of coronavirus lockdown on Wednesday, October 28.
He gave this warning in his message to Muslims in Nigeria as they join others all over the world to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (SAW), Eid-el-Maulud on Thursday, October 29.
President Buhari said that thou Nigeria has successfully managed the fist round of the pandemic by keeping the numbers as low as possible, care has to be taken to prevent experiencing a second wave of the pandemic.
“Looking at the trends in the other countries, we must do all we can to avert the second wave of the pandemic. We must make sure that our cases, which have gone down, do not rise again. Our economy is too fragile to bear another round of lockdown”
He advised citizens to strictly observe all COVID-19 protocols such as social distancing, the wearing of face masks, and washing of hands and addressed youth particularly , to shun every negative tendencies as manifested in the recent hijacking of peaceful protests to loot and destroy public and private property.
The President urged all citizens to reflect on the virtues of the Holy Prophet such as patience, honesty, sincerity, kindness,generosity and lots more and put into practice by showing love and understanding to fellow citizens.
